Organisational Profile
Jive Media strategises the best combination of media for the message, and importantly, for the target audience.
We are experts in overcoming barriers posed by education levels, language, literacy, visual competencies and income.
We specialise in multi-platform communication, using television, print, web, social media, mobile or other electronic communications.
Staff
Robert Inglis, Director, has extensive experience in multi-platform communications - in both the strategising and creation of products. A mechanical engineer with industry experience, he accompanied the South African National Antarctic Expedition for 15 months (overwinter) in 2001-2002. Since returning, Robert has been producing award winning innovative media products for clients such as the Department of Science and Technology and SKA (MeerKAT - the Karoo Array Telescope).
Other staff members include:
Natasha Naidoo, who worked in the UK (2004 - 2006) for Norwich Union as they switched from paper-based documentation to digital database records, has been employed at Jive Media Africa since February 2007 and is responsible for the smooth operations of Jive Media Africa.
Hilary Kromberg, a Wits University graduate, has over 20 years experience in information and communication having managed divisions at SANGONet, SABC Education and Rapid Phase Interactive (creators of the Madam & Eve Cartoon strip). Hilary consults to clients on creative and strategic communications strategies, as well as authoring many of our products.
Mlungisi Madide is Jive Media Africa's administrator. He attained his national Senior Certificate in 2009 and is currently registered for a Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of KwaZulu Natal.
Nensi Mbambo has been employed by Jive Media Africa since 2005 (then Revolutions). Nensi is the hostess at Phoebe Villa, having years of housekeeping experience as well as having completed a cookery course at Aubergine Cookery School.
We contract in specialist writers, graphic artists, illustrators and cartoonists such as
Rico of Madam & Eve on a project-specific basis.
BEE
Jive Media Africa is classified as an Exempt Micro Enterprise (EME) and as a result Jive Media Africa is currently a Level 4 Contributor to B-BBEE. This means that Jive Media Africa's clients can claim at least 100% of their procurement spend with Jive Media towards their own B-BBEE scorecard.
Jive Media has a mentorship programme and are committed to raising the skills level and realizing the potential of young people interested in the field of media and communications. We have seen a number of trainees moving out into formal employment as a result of the skills and knowledge gained during their time with us.
Jive Media Africa is situated at Phoebe Villa,
where a unique fusion of Victorian architecture and contemporary African design energises and inspires our creative work.
Our logo is an Mbira or a Kalimba, a traditional African musical instrument.
Listen to Mark Holdaway playing Robert's
Dream on a Kalimba. Read more about Mark Holdaway and Kalimba Magic,
who coincidentally generated the Supernova image
in our MeerKAT comic. This coincidence has been a special development for us at Jive Media.
